Wall Street

Wall Street is mainly known as the stock market street in New York and it is nicknamed the canyons of New York. Wall Street is a pretty busy street so traffic has a lot of problems there. Therefore, we recommend you take the Metro to Wall Street and not a Taxi. There are three different subway stations that stop there. Wall Street (Broadway-Seventh Avenue Line), Broad Street (Nassau Street Line) and Wall Street (Lexington Avenue Line).

The best way to start your morning in New York’s Financial District is a free trip on the Staten Island Ferry. This ferry runs 140 times a day back and forth between Manhattan and Staten Island. Along the way you will have great views of the Statue of Liberty, the New York skyline and the skyscrapers of the Financial District. The trip on the Staten Island Ferry takes about 20 minutes. You can choose to stroll around Staten Island for a while or take the next ferry back.

The Battery ( Battery Park )

After a trip on the Staten Island Ferry, stroll to nearby The Battery, previously called Battery Park. This city park of over 10 acres has recently been completely renovated. The statue of the The Fearless Girl also stands in New York’s Financial District. And was made in honor of International Women’s Day. The idea behind the statue is to promote women’s empowerment and encourage companies to recruit more women, especially in leadership positions. The powerful image of a young girl staring confidently at the bull inspired so many people that within just 48 hours, people were already signing petitions for her to stay forever. The statue is on display in front of the New York Stock Exchange.

The Federal Reserve Bank of new York , also known as 33 Liberty Street , is a building in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan that serves as the headquarters of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. And under this building sits more than 6 tons of gold underground, The vault of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York stores gold for central banks, governments and official organizations. According to the New York Fed, the vault, located 25 meters below street level, contained about 497,000 gold bars with a total weight of 6,190 tons in 2019. So as you walk down 33 Liberty Street, think of all that gold under your feet.

Trinity Church

Trinity Church is one of the most famous landmarks in New York City. This church played a crucial role in American history and the creation of the financial district. The cemetery next to Trinity Church is also one of the most famous sights in the Financial District. Many famous people are buried on the church court, including two of New York City’s most influential figures, Alexander Hamiliton and Robert Fulton. Visitors and even some Wall Street traders throw pennies on Alexander Hamiliton’s grave , believing it will bring them luck. A visit to the cemetery should be on every visitor’s program. The church and cemetery are open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., so it’s easy to stop by while walking down Wall Street. Please note that although both the church and cemetery are open to guests, a security check is required for entry.
