The Meatpacking District in New York is a relatively small neighborhood in the borough of Manhattan. The Meatpacking District takes its name from the many meat distributors who once lived there and worked in industrial warehouses. Today, the Meatpacking District is a hip and trendy area in the western tip of Manhattan. Roughly speaking, the neighborhood runs from West 14th Street to Gansevoort Street, and from the Hudson River to Hudson Street. You will find small boutiques, nightclubs and restaurants everywhere in the district.
